Originally from North Carolina, Scott Startsman vacationed most of his life in Hawaii and in 1999 decided to move permanently to the Islands. Scott attended Appalachian State University and UNC-Charlotte were he was a scholarship athlete in soccer, making the academic honor roll 3 years while being apart of the national ranked soccer program. Scott graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing & Sales.
